dashboard question

I have been pretty stumped on how to actually send useful information to the Dashboard until now. I looked around CD and found some references to SmartDashboard and Zombe. But before I go diving into those, I just want to know if you would be allowed to run those applications during an actual competition. That also relates to my other question which is are you allowed to control the robot during a competition from the Developer account on the classmate? That seems like the only way you actually could run SmartDashboard or Zombe. Is the Driver account only for convenience or is its use required in a match?

Re: dashboard question

(its ZomB, not Zombe)
yes, they (DS and Dash) need to be run in Driver, which is pretty easy. I saw someone with a script for launching the SmartDashboard, and ZomB has a Deploy function that builds it to an exe, by default, in C:\Program Files\FRC Dashboard\Dashboard.exe, which is the program the DS starts if you have Local dashboard selected on the Setup tab. x64 may be in Program Files (x86), but you'll have to see for yourself.

What about SmartDashboard? Lots of people are using that, and I think it looks more easy to use than ZomB. Can you run that from in the Driver account? Also, if we wanted to get the images from our cameras (yes, two), could we open a web browser in Driver to see the images? If not, how do we get two camera images in SmartDashboard?

Been asking the same question If I could find the source code for the Smartdashboard, instead of just the jar file, it could be altered to replace the default video display with the web feed of the cameras. I'm sure the source is available someplace, I just can't seem to find it.

EDIT: Found the source code, let me see what I can do...

I know that you can use SmartDashboard and its pretty simple to use.
In terms of getting two camera images, I don't know if you could use a web browser but SmartDashboard can show camera images. You just have to select in preferences.
