We've been having a hell of a time trying to get the wireless to work with our robot. We are using Java with Netbeans. I am really not sure what the problem is so I'm just going to start listing things we have done and hopefully someone can tell us something we've missed.
Things we have done:
Other things we have tried might be slipping my mind right now, as I am at home. One thing that I am NOT sure of is that we are using the correct Driver Station. Is the Driver Station this object, or is it the Driver account on the ClassMate? |

Re: 2011 Wireless System Questions
Are you in an area with lots of Wifi usage? We have been having issues with testing our robot over wireless when we are in areas of moderate to high 2.4ghz Wifi usage, such as the student center at NU.

Re: 2011 Wireless System Questions
There are a couple different access points, but we were on campus in the evening when hardly anyone is around. I don't think there was a lot of wireless activity going on. The connection said it was pretty strong. Which Driver Station are you using? (I am really paranoid about this being the problem and just want to make sure it isn't overlooked

Re: 2011 Wireless System Questions
You should be using the driver's station account on the Classmate. The blue box driver's station was only used for 2009 and should not be used for your setup this year.

Your Classmate (suitably updated, logged in as Driver, and running the Driver Station application) will connect wirelessly to your DAP (properly configured in Access Point mode) on the robot. |

Re: 2011 Wireless System Questions
Okay, it still doesn't work. Can anyone walk me through exactly how this is supposed to be set up? Or point me to all the proper documents?
This is the current setup: ClassMate <--ethernet--> LinkSys Router and DAP-1522 <--ethernet--> cRIO I tried connecting the ClassMate to the DAP-1522 via wifi and got "limited connectivity". I read that this could mean that it just doesn't have internet access, which makes sense, but the driver account still says there is no connection. On the driver account, we have:
EDIT: Fixed. I had to fix the settings in my wireless adapter on the ClassMate and remove the LinkSys router entirely. Thanks everyone! Last edited by HarryScheiner : 19-02-2011 at 09:02. Reason: Fixed the problem |
