Robot weight

How heavy is your robot this year? How do you think this will affect the gameplay?

Re: Robot weight

We are at 98 lbs, add deployment and a little shielding and reinforcement and we should top out at around 105.

We will try to stay at that weight to be a little more nimble but it's nice to have 15lbs of ballast to play with.

Re: Robot weight

We like having pushing power, which additional weight really helps. We'll have to see how that balances against speed, however... likely we'll sit right at 119.9 again this year.

As of this morning we were at 104.6 or something similar to that. That is without the deployment mechanism tho

Re: Robot weight

we just weighed our robot the other day and we weighed in at 112.0 we have a few gussets and plates that need to be put in still and the minibot deployment so we are assuming to be at or above 120. it's always good to assume that things weight more because then you will make things lighter

Re: Robot weight

We have a pretty beefy drive train, so even if the robot weighs 120 plus batteries, mini-bot, and bumpers, it will still be very nimble.

Re: Robot weight

We love that 120 mark...

At the moment around 115ish, this includes

-Beefy drive-train, all electronics, everything needed to effective play the game (mini-bot deployment, arm/elevator)

-Some flashy decals, and maybe a pirate?!?! O.o

Re: Robot weight

We are at 90 lbs right now. Just need to add some lexan armor and decorations. Fast and light.
