Is "IT" for you?

If you could go out right now and buy a Segway, would you? Would you buy it if it was cheaper? Let me know what you think.

Segway is great and all, especially for the gyroscopes and self-balancing abilities. However, I am a bit disappointed, I dont think it was worth all the hype. Its a great idea and would be a very convenient contraption for certain people but it seems like people now a days are gettin more lazy and now with Segway we have a machine that does the walking for us. Are we really that lazy that we can't walk down a sidewalk with our own legs? Of course, everything is circumstantial and for longer distances Segway would be great but then again, if its really that long, why not just take a car. But what I actually found most impressive was the battery capacity. A quick charge that could last all day and for many miles and that could be very helpful to many inventions and products to come. Alright, I'm done rambling.

If you ask me, IT was left best at that. There was no way that it could hold up to what it was made out to be. IT became not something wondered about, but rather the perfect invention in everyone's mind. If you ask my opinion, Dean Kamen made the right choice in the first place to keep it hidden, and I can understand why he hid it in the first place. He knew that if he released it right when he invented it, that it wouldn't have had such high recourse as it did when he kept it secret for a while. If he hid IT for a while longer, the anticipation would have been even more heightened and perhaps the times would have found it better. I think it would be a good idea if released like ten or fifteen years from now, but right now at best we're not ready for it. The error in the whole idea is timing.

just chiming in my two cents
