Unable to send code (cRIO v28)

Ever since my team updated to cRIO Update v28 we haven't been able to connect to the FTP. For lack of a better term, our FTP just hangs.

And to stop our code from deploying we have to exit out of Netbeans and load it back up to send again.

Any help?
Thanks.

It might be entirely unrelated, but the same thing happened to us. Check your classmate ip settings and check that your team number is correctly entered in netbeans.

Yes, it is. It even says

Connecting to FTP at 10.32.66.2

so we know the settings should be fine. Has your team been able to send code yet?

Re: Unable to send code (cRIO v28)

Yeah, ours has been working fine. I'll check to make sure that we have v28. Are you able to connect to get robot communication through the driver station?

EDIT: Dang. Uh. Yeah, nevermind. Apparently we still have version 25. I'll try installing 28 and see what happens.

Re: Unable to send code (cRIO v28)

Can you ping the robot manually from the programming computer? If you can do that, try opening a browser window and navigating to ftp://10.32.66.2. This should tell you if it's a problem with the robot or your computer. There have been various odd problem since this morning's software update.

We were able to send code on another laptop (which was backed up about 3 days ago). Updated Netbeans and all was well, still can't send code on our main laptop though.

Re: Unable to send code (cRIO v28)

The most likely reason that it works with one computer but not another would be networking issues. But given that you've already checked that here's a quick way to emulate reinstalling the netbeans modules:

1) Quit Netbeans
2) Rename the "sunspotfrcsdk" folder in you "home directory".
3) Launch Netbeans. If you have the most recent netbeans modules then they will re-create a freash "sunspotfrcsdk" folder.
4) You may have to re-set the FRC NetBeans preferences for your team name.

If this fixes the problem it would be good if you can find any differences between the old and new sunspotfrcsdk folders.

If you are sure that you have no team robot code in the old sunspotfrcsdk folder, feel free to delete the old one.

Re: Unable to send code (cRIO v28)

Hi Team 3011 here.

We are having the same problem.
It seems like FIRST has a tendency to want to make our lives miserable.

Anyways our FTP is hanging as well. I can get full response from a ping, but even when I try to go into a browser and get to the cRIO through FTP it hangs as well.

I honestly don't have anymore ideas, and we have to ship the bot tomorrow

See derekwhite's post on "resetting" Netbeans. We also how to reset our cRIO completely- and reformat it in Safe Mode.
Once you do that, re-image your cRIO and you should be good to go.

Re: Unable to send code (cRIO v28)

Try 'downgrading' to v27 for the moment - with all the problems people are reporting with v28, it would be surprising if FIRST didn't release at least v29 before competition.
