One of the things you will find in FRC is that the rules are the rules.

If your robot is one ounce over the weight limit, then it is over the weight limit and you need to lose some weight. If it is 1/32" over the size limit, then you need to make it smaller.

Even if you have a tech inspector who doesn't notice that your numerals are undersize, your team does have to sign off on the inspection form stating that to the best of your knowledge your robot complies with all the rules of FIRST.

You have clearly stated that your team is aware that you are not in compliance with the rules. Yeah, its going to be a pain to go back and fix this shortly before ship, but you can make some new bumper covers and bring them with you as part of the withholding allowance, or come up with some other clever way to make your robot compliant with the rules.

Don't wait for the tech inspectors to call you on this. Fix it now and sign the inspection form with a clean conscience knowing that you have, to the best of your knowledge, complied with all the rules.
