Switching from Jaguar to Victor

We are in the process of switching from using a jaguar to a victor for our window motor. Is there anything different that we need to do in our code other than changing the identifier?
We program in Java but this is the first time we have used a victor.

Re: Switching from Jaguar to Victor

You actually don't even need to change the identifier; you can leave it as Jaguar with no ill effects.

So to answer your question: Nope! Nothing needs to change.

I thought I read somewhere that the factory default null calibration is different for the Jags and the Vics. If you run a Vic and tell your software it's a Jag you might have some null offset issues.

Re: Switching from Jaguar to Victor

It's possible, but we ran our spin bar that way last year with no problem. YMMV.

A spin bar doesn't much care about null, does it ?

Re: Switching from Jaguar to Victor

If you run a jaguar with the software set up for a victor, it will never reach full speed. If you run a victor with the software set up for a jaguar, it may respond erratically becasue it's being updated much faster then spec. It also will reach full speed prior to the full range of the software. There will also be a small null offset, but teams put up with that for years with the IFI controller.
