TETRIX Stand-off Posts - What Material?

Do any of the FRC or FTC teams out there have any of the TETRIX Stand-Off Posts?

We're thinking of using some on our minibot, but don't yet have any and would like to know what they are made out of.

Steel or aluminum? Something else?

The rules allow the use of "mechanical fasteners (e.g. screws, bolts)". I would think that standoffs you link to as well as visually similar items you could find in any well-stocked hardware store would be OK. I think the parts you link to are made of steel.

they're aluminum like the rest of the standoffs the Tetrix kit uses

However, you can make spacers and/or standoffs out of allowed material. Aluminum would be allowed under <R92G> but steel would not be.

If you come with store-bought, non-tetrix, steel standoffs, you may not pass inspection.

However, if one just has to have steel, one could invest in coupling nuts...those are fasteners, after all.

If someone is really fixated on steel, the Tetrix axles are made of steel and can be modified...
