Re: Watchdog expiration problems in teleop

I'm assuming you didn't post your Periodic Tasks because you didn't modify it, as it appears that your sensor code is all in your Teleop/Autonomous. While I don't think this is a good practice, that shouldn't result in any watchdog issues I believe. If you don't have any other errors on the Diagnostics panel (like Robot Main not running fast enough, reference errors, anything) besides the Watchdog issue, I am at a loss. You should post your Periodic Tasks just to make sure.

Barring any problems with the Periodic Tasks, my suggestion (unless anyone else has any ideas) is to download the Default Robot Code to your Robot with no modifications to see if you still have the above issue.

EDIT: Are you getting Watchdog issues in the area of the Dashboard that says Teleop Enabled, Autonomous Enabled, etc? Or are you getting User Watchdog expiration messages in the Diagnostics panel? The first matters, the second is due to issues in your Finish.vi but really doesn't matter for purposes at the competition.

Re: Watchdog expiration problems in teleop

So just to understand, do you ever get "Watchdog Expired" in the window that says "Teleop Enabled"? i.e. do you ever lose Communication/Robot Code at unexpected times? And can you state the exact message you are getting in the Diagnostics Panel? I understand that you will probably not be able to do this till your first event (tomorrow) but I (crosses fingers) think that you are just getting the User Watchdog expiration message, which is not an issue.

The Periodic Tasks.vi is another labview file in the same folder as the Begin, Teleop, Autonomous and Finish.vi's.

Re: Watchdog expiration problems in teleop

I was using a new laptop with a clean install of windows xp and with the fire wall off. I had the lastes driverstation software. I was getting watchdog expiration every 2 minutes. I used last years classmate with a broken ethernet port which was hot glued, I was able to go 25 minutes with no watch dog problems. I guess it might be communication time outs. Thank you so much for your time
