FIRST Team 1710 Logomotion Robot

Here is a 3 part video of our robot this year. When we were practicing, we were running a little low on battery so the lift was a little slower than usual. We start out with a top row scoring atonomous and then go through teleop and finally we deploy our minibot at the end of the match. Good Luck to all of the other teams this year; we are looking forward to seeing you at competition!

Re: FIRST Team 1710 Logomotion Robot

I saw these videos go up last night, and I was very impressed. Everything is fast. The drivetrain looks fast, the elevator is fast, and the minibot is pretty zippy too.

Autonomous looks solid. Are you using line sensors or a camera for guidance, or just aiming it when placing it on the field and counting on the wheels to drive strait?

Does your transmission shift between 2 speeds, or is it single speed only?

Your minibot vid stoped after it hit the pole. I assume that the motors shut off with a limit switch at the top of the pole. Does it come down on its own power, or stay at the top?

Again, it looks great. Can't wait to see it in action at KC, hopefully on the same side of the field.

Re: FIRST Team 1710 Logomotion Robot

Our autonomous uses line sensing and we are working on the forked line code currently. The autonomous for the straight line has been 100% accurate so far.

Our drive and lift are both single speed, but we seem to have really good control with lower speeds as well as our top speeds.

Yes, we have a limit switch that depresses and stays down and then a ratcheting mechanism that keeps our minibot at the top of the pole. We have a way to release it on the field and then the minibot glides down after the match. The limit switch and ratcheting device have worked the last 15+ times since we made our final modifications.

Thanks, I hope we do too
