Graduation Distinction

I thought of this while reading the Robotics letter thread, and didn't want to clutter that with another topic.

In my school, at graduation, Forensics members and FBLA members graduate with special distinction. I think they only wear a special color cord or something with their gown, but it's still something. I was wondering if anyone's school had a similar distinction for Robotics?

Haha, that'd be great! I could see someone doing that too ...

I don't think anyone at our school graduates with distinction. Maybe NHS members, but I think that's it ...

At my high school they have the names of the people on the team that graduated in the program that they hand out. Can't remember if they read the names though. Ogre would be of more help.

Hehe. I'm graduating with distinction...well...so maybe my school doesn't know about it...but still! I plan on wearing my Chucks at graduation They're ratty, mismatched, Converse All-Star high-tops. It shall be interesting when the principal yells at me...but I really couldn't care less

This got me thinking. Why doesn't FIRST do more to recognize it's graduating Seniors? Especially those of us in since we were freshmen. I think it would really be memorable for them to give us something special, like a cord or little medallion or something.

That would be a good idea to have something standard that FIRST would create. Maybe it is something that could be brought up... perhaps after the announcement of the CE.

If anyone thinks of something to distinguish themselves with at graduation, let me know. I would be willing to bring it up to the school boards in my team. Or if anyone has ideas on how to bring the suggestion to the school board, and let them figure out the distinction.

If a type of cord is used, it would be neat to have them made in team colors, and then if you are a floor team member, have something different on the ends of them. (same concept as forensics)

Thanks for the input!
