Re: 2011 Finger Lakes Regional!
I would hazard a guess that this is true, given a lack of FMS posting to:
http://twitter.com/search?q=%23FRCROC FMS is happily posting away with hashtags #FRCNJ (New Jersey Regional), #FRCNH (BAE Systems Granite State Regional), and #FRCSTX (Alamo Regional) |

Re: 2011 Finger Lakes Regional!
I'm not exactly an insider here, but from what I understand we still haven't been able to connect any robots to the field yet. Not sure why that is. No update announcements have been made since lunchtime.

Re: 2011 Finger Lakes Regional!
I can confirm that FLR is having significant field issues. On the plus side the lack of matches has given people plenty of time to get their robots inspected.

Re: 2011 Finger Lakes Regional!
Any update on FLR's field issues? The day is now basically over according to the agenda.
No @FRCFMS #FRCROC tweets... did any FLR teams get to practice? I'm headed for Rochester after finishing work tomorrow, to cheer my team on for Saturday. Hope everything gets worked out. EDIT: Looks like FLR field is finally up: http://twitter.com/leedrake Upon further inspection of that twitter feed, it seems like RIT's IT department had been jamming adhoc Wifi (which the field depends on) Last edited by Racer26 : 03-03-2011 at 17:33. |

I think in general it snows more in Rochester by snowing a little bit everyday, whereas in New England, a lot of snow falls during each storm, but storms occur less often. FLR seems like a great regional though with good competition. It's unfortunate the field was down today. |

Re: 2011 Finger Lakes Regional!
WOW! Look at our FLR teams go!
2 Matches played today: http://twitter.com/search?q=%23frcroc frcfms #FRCROC TY P MC 1 RF 18 BF 82 RE 1153 156 639 BL 340 2056 1518 RB 0 BB 30 RP 0 BP 0 15 minutes ago via FMS Practice Match 1 (15 Minutes ago) Red Alliance(1153,156,639) v Blue Alliance(340,2056,1518) Final score 18-82 Blue bonus: 30 frcfms #FRCROC TY P MC 2 RF 73 BF 48 RE 191 1511 1559 BL 217 578 1640 RB 50 BB 0 RP 0 BP 0 2 minutes ago via FMS Practice Match 2 (2 minutes ago) Red Alliance(191, 1511, 1559) v Blue Alliance (217, 578, 1640) Final score: 73 - 48 Red bonus: 50. Off to a late start, but are they ever playing. Compare these scores to #FRCNJ, #FRCNH, or #FRCSTX. Seems like FLR is the regional to watch so far. Last edited by Racer26 : 03-03-2011 at 17:58. |

Re: 2011 Finger Lakes Regional!
Field issues appear resolved and practice matches are underway. I was blown away by the first few matches. Didn't expect those scores at all. At alllllllll.
2056 and 217 just missed putting up 4 logos.217 with a quick minibot, 2056 scoring theirs as well. Well over 100 points. Last edited by Justin Montois : 03-03-2011 at 18:20. |

Re: 2011 Finger Lakes Regional!
What teams are looking good out there?? How are the chickens (217) doing?
I'm especially interested in fellow Canadian teams 2056, 188, and the others competing there. Last edited by Jonathan Norris : 03-03-2011 at 18:21. |

Re: 2011 Finger Lakes Regional!
Hmmm, my team left around 5 and I don't think we have got on the field. When did they stop doing practice matches?

Re: 2011 Finger Lakes Regional!
Phew! That was a long day.
It turned out that the root cause of our field issues was RIT's wireless network interfering with the FRC network. Once we got the okay to disable their network in the building at about 4pm, we were able to finally get going with our matches, and we extended practice time until 9pm. I wasn't able to take many pictures, but I have pics of 217 and 2056 that I'll link for you guys: http://i.imgur.com/3lRd1.jpg http://i.imgur.com/RcHIV.jpg Best robots at the competition so far: Easily 217 and 2056. Both are scoring machines with incredibly fast minibots. 217 has a bit of a tendency to get caught up on field elements during autonomous, but it's clear these teams are the best ones that have played so far. In the time I was at FLR (until about 7) I didn't see 188 play. The traditional local powerhouses 1126 and 191 were also playing well today. One last note: In practice match 2, the only robot that was playing on the blue alliance was 217, scoring 48 points but missing out on the minibot right at the end (I think that was the match where the minibot fell off the deployment mechanism). So yeah, I'd say the Thunderchickens are at their usual level of awesome this year. |

Re: 2011 Finger Lakes Regional!
Very long day!!
There were some impressive robots out there today. I suspect that we'll see some other robots improve significantly during Friday, with all the pit time and practice field time that they got today to work the kinks out. The qualifying matches should be fun! |

Re: 2011 Finger Lakes Regional!
Due to unforeseen Circumstances and having to work overtime to be able to get some practice matches the Laser Tag had to be postponed but we can try again tonight.
