Go to Post I'm now convinced that the entire 2015 season was an elaborate ploy by FIRST to get teams to stop complaining about bumpers. - Joe G. [more]

Re: 2011 Finger Lakes Regional!

Phew! That was a long day.
It turned out that the root cause of our field issues was RIT's wireless network interfering with the FRC network. Once we got the okay to disable their network in the building at about 4pm, we were able to finally get going with our matches, and we extended practice time until 9pm.
I wasn't able to take many pictures, but I have pics of 217 and 2056 that I'll link for you guys:

Best robots at the competition so far: Easily 217 and 2056. Both are scoring machines with incredibly fast minibots. 217 has a bit of a tendency to get caught up on field elements during autonomous, but it's clear these teams are the best ones that have played so far.
In the time I was at FLR (until about 7) I didn't see 188 play.
The traditional local powerhouses 1126 and 191 were also playing well today.
One last note: In practice match 2, the only robot that was playing on the blue alliance was 217, scoring 48 points but missing out on the minibot right at the end (I think that was the match where the minibot fell off the deployment mechanism). So yeah, I'd say the Thunderchickens are at their usual level of awesome this year.
