Week 1 Friday Scoring Breakdown

I was running some numbers and thought y'all might be interested in the pre-lunch and post-lunch numbers for today. All the data is derived from the FMS Twitter Feed so certified results may vary.

The numbers in this section are from all Pre-Lunch Matches on Fri Mar 4

There were 98 matches before lunch.

4011 points were scored (before penalties) (40.92 per match)

Score Quartiles
Win
1: 04 - 2: 30 - 3: 49 - 4: 84
Lose
1: 00 - 2: 02 - 3: 09 - 4: 49

Only 1 Alliance that scored with a minibot lost (there were 30 minibot scorings across 28 matches).

140 penalties that actually impacted a score were issued (so, once a team runs out of points more penalties don't matter)

If you scored 6 points (a bottom row logo) you'd have been the winner of 73.19% of matches.

If you scored 12 points (a middle row logo) you'd have been the winner of 77.32% of matches.

If you scored 18 points (a top row logo) you'd have been the winner of 83.50% of matches.

If you scored 30 points (a minibot) you'd have been the winner of 93.81% of matches

The average Peg Score for an Alliance was 16.89

The numbers in this section are from all Post-Lunch Matches on Fri Mar 4

There were 253 matches after lunch.

13385 points were scored (before penalties) (53.12 per match, 12.2 points more than morning)

Score Quartiles
Win
1: 15 (+11) - 2: 33 (+03) - 3: 55 (+06) - 4: 122 (+38)
Lose
1: 00 (n/c) - 2: 05 (+03) - 3: 18 (+09) - 4: 65 (+16)

Only 32 Alliances that scored with a minibot lost (there were 174 minibot scorings across 121 matches).

380 penalties that actually impacted a score were issued (so, once a team runs out of points more penalties don't matter)

If you scored 6 points (a bottom row logo) you'd have been the winner of 55.73% of matches.

If you scored 12 points (a middle row logo) you'd have been the winner of 69.17% of matches.

If you scored 18 points (a top row logo) you'd have been the winner of 75.49% of matches.

If you scored 30 points (a minibot) you'd have been the winner of 85.38% of matches

To win 90% of matches you'd need a score of 33.

The average Peg Score for an Alliance was 17.27

Let me know if there are any other derivative scores you guys want and I"ll happily calculate them. At the end of the weekend I'll post my spreadsheet with all the numbers in it.

Re: Week 1 Friday Scoring Breakdown

What was the average amount of tubes scored per alliance? Per team?

The FMS just gives me point values, the average team earned the Peg Value listed in points from hanging tubes (the value of penalties has been added to a score and the value of minibots have been subtracted).

Re: Week 1 Friday Scoring Breakdown

One thing to point out: at the Alamo Regional, at least, there were several times where the tower sensors were not working correctly, and they awarded points for the minibot by adding to the total score (which can be edited manually), and not in the "Race" column (which is controlled only by the sensors). So, some of the "peg scores" versus "minibot scores" may be off slightly. Probably correct for the most part, but just be forewarned
