Re: Check out our grepper

I think that gripper will be pretty effective, but you might want to take is off of instructables for fear another team will copy the design.

Re: Check out our grepper

I disagree - I didn't have time to really look at the design, but if a team wants to post their designs online, there's nothing wrong with that. This isn't a competition where we should guard our ideas closely, we should be sharing anything we can, so that others can learn from what we did and, hopefully, improve on them.

Wow!

I like how simple the design is, while it doesn't seem to compromise on gripper strength. very very cool!

I'm pretty sure that was their whole point when putting it out there. anyone can copy a design, it's copying the design process that's really tricky!

Exactly. We share ideas to help struggling teams or try to improve on something. It's about working together, not hiding everything about the robot.

Nice gripper should do the trick

Re: Check out our grepper

Thank you for the compliments.
The idea behind posting this has a story - we found ourselves near the end of the 6 weeks with no working gripper. i thought to myself, surely someone made a good design and shared it. after not finding a design anywhere i decided to design one myself and promised that if it will work propperly i will share it with the world.

And so i did.

I hope whoever wants can use this.
