Re: WI Regional

Congratulations to all the teams who were at the WI Regional. In my 11 years of FIRST, I do not believe that I have ever been to an event where I have had so much fun at. After Thursday (which was probably the worst Thursday I have ever had at a competition both from a team and regional perspective), I was really nervous about how the other two days would go, but things went off without any major hitches! I thought there was no way that we would be able to run 6 minute match times but kudos to the field crew for hustling to get it done.

A huge thank you to FTA Joe Troy for making the right decision to suspend practice matches Thursday afternoon; this decision to get all the teams connected to the field is 90% of why Friday and Saturday went as smoothly as it did.

Thank you to our alliance partners 111 for picking us and being an awesome scorer, and 2702 for being a reliable autonomous scorer and great "anti-defender" (watch match 1 of the finals).

Congratulations to my alma mater team 93 for winning the judges award and making it to the finals. I could not think of a more exciting way to win or lose the finals but against my alma mater team!

Congrats to Kevin Kolodziej for winning the Volunteer of the Year award. Kevin had dedicated his life to FIRST and robotics programs as a student, mentor, and volunteer; and has had a huge impact to the WI community!

1714 and 537: Both of these fantastic teams more than deserve the Chairman's and EI award! There are many great teams in WI, but with the amount that both of these teams spread the influence of FIRST both in and out of the community, there is no question on why these teams won!

Lastly, thank you teams for making this an exciting game. At the WI regional, we have no 0-0 matches and only 9* matches were an alliance had 0 points! As I said in the closing ceremonies, I believe this is the year that FIRST finally produced a game that both teams and spectators love to watch!
