Re: FRCTop25.com *Week 2 Voting*
As someone who volunteers first (with FLL\JrFLL) at the regional and works with my team second, I find it very difficult to pick 25 teams when I did not get much time watch competition.
I'm just wondering if for next year you would consider leaving the max teams at 25 but only making it required to submit 10 or so? |

I understand that most people who are voting aren't watching every single match every weekend but with some research I don't think filling out 25 teams is out of the question. |

It's not a perfect system, for example, defensive robots do not tend to have high OPR's compared to offensive robots but can still be very good. It's just one objective way of looking at robots. |

Looking through your Q matches your high score was 67 Where at teams like 217 had 2 Q matches in which the score was over 120 points. It seems your ranking for your event would be very high, but not nationally. Again OPR doesn't take into account your record or awards. It takes into account your teams contribution to the points scored. In events where the field is starved for tubes, there is a good chance you will not rank very high on the national polls. |

OPR only factors in your match scores, and your partners in qualification matches. It doesn't include penalties, opponents, or elims. OPR seeks to a calculate your "contribution" to the scores of your alliances. When explaining OPR, I like to call the robot with the highest OPR : "Qualification Matches MVP". Just like in baseball and other sports, the MVP is not always on the best teams (like Ernie Banks). The MVP doesn't always win the championship (like LeBron James). In FIRST events this year, the OPR MVP has won all but 2 (Waterford and KC). Looking at your matches at Waterford, it looks like you got off to a slow start and put up several zeros (after penalties). I have heard you have a fast minibot, but it looks like you only deployed it twice in quals. You still managed the 9th highest OPR at Waterford. I am sure your OPR will be higher at future events. |

Re: FRCTop25.com *Week 2 Voting*
unfortunately San Diego and Lake Superior did not post to the twitter feed,
so I don't have data on those teams. I'm curious which teams from those 2 regionals people believe deserve a spot in the top 25. |

Re: FRCTop25.com *Week 2 Voting*
987 and 254 both made my top 10. I didn't have any others from those events in my top 25, but I did give consideration to these teams: 1538, 1717, 2512, and 876

987 and 254 for sure, possibly 1717 as they improved every single match.

Re: FRCTop25.com *Week 2 Voting*
I feel bad that I just kind of have to guess on many of the most successful robots based on the tiny snippets of video I saw.
