Re: Team 330 Presents - Beach 'Bot 2011
Totally missed that on my phone. I saw what looks like a silver box off the side and assumed banebots.

Re: Team 330 Presents - Beach 'Bot 2011
So, did you guys go through your regular design discussion/strategy phase or was it modified/shortened due to the 2007 robot's success?
And is it happy with the crate? ![]() Jane |

Re: Team 330 Presents - Beach 'Bot 2011
Looks like another great design from our Neighbors! Best of luck this week in Arizona and best of luck getting it in the crate and back to LA for the following week!

Re: Team 330 Presents - Beach 'Bot 2011
Shane,
Looks great! We got the same drawer slides and setup, battery and compressor in exact same spots, and similar claws. Is that a triple reduction I see? |

Re: Team 330 Presents - Beach 'Bot 2011
Looks like a double reduction off the gearbox with another gear for tensioning/position sensing.
I'll see about watching any webcast on Friday or Saturday if I can... |

Re: Team 330 Presents - Beach 'Bot 2011
Confirming what Eric said - just a dual reduction like past years. That sprocket is there for tensioning purposes.

Re: Team 330 Presents - Beach 'Bot 2011
Logomotion was my rookie year, and my first FIRST event was at the 2011 AZ regional.
Along with all the other rookies on our team, I was the most impressed by Team 330's Beach 'Bot. (Falcon Robotics was a close 2nd). From the handling of the 8wd, to the ease at which that killer claw picked up tubes, I coudn't have found a better robot. Great Job guys, hope to see y'll next year! |

Re: Team 330 Presents - Beach 'Bot 2011
Someone should ask it that after it gets out of the bag.
(OK, so it's in the bag in the crate for transport to Arizona right now...) |

Re: Team 330 Presents - Beach 'Bot 2011
Wonderful. Insert "great minds think alike" comment here.
How does it extend over the bumper? Is it similar to Shaker's arm? We were generally happy with the arm design this year. Our problems with it at WPI were chalked up to a lack of driver practice and coordination: you need that to grip the tubes in an ideal location. Also, our PVC arm had a lot of flex which contributed to an already harder-to-control long arm system. Of course, 330's ace in their sleeve is always their driving, so I guarantee they will do amazingly with this design. |
