Re: Washington DC Regional 2011

Well being from Nothern VA, I'm commuting every day. Depending on the load in arragements, my team may need some help with getting the robot and our tools to the convention center.

If you have questions, feel free to PM me!

Don't mean to be a bother, but wouldn't this best be served in the Regionals thread?

Good luck to all teams!

Re: Washington DC Regional 2011

Anyone know how the load-in is at DC. Are there ramps? Through large doors? We have a big tool chest that is too big to carry.

Re: Washington DC Regional 2011

The convention center in Washington has an enormous loading dock that they allow the teams to use. Load in at Washington is fantastic. They will also allow load in the evening before.

The DC Regional is probably my favorite in all the regionals I have attended in 10 years with FIRST!

I can't wait to meet all the teams new to DC and catch up with the other returning teams!

Re: Washington DC Regional 2011

Even though we are taking this year off from DC we are planning to come up on Saturday to watch, hopefully we can bring a bunch of middle school students with us and they can see what FRC is about.

Re: Washington DC Regional 2011

This will be our first trip to DC as well. We won't make it in time for Wednesday night unload, but I'm glad to hear about the big loading dock. We are very excited for this regional!

To put it in perspective, the regional is held in the same location that the DC Auto Sho is held each year. You could quite literally drive a truck through the doors into the hall. I don't think the even organizers would like it though.

Will there be a webcast at the event this year? There are no links on the NASA list of webcasts yet...

Re: Washington DC Regional 2011

Be aware that while the competition is at the same venue it is in a different hall. This year its not going to be in the main hall, its going to be in one of the smaller upstairs hall, but im sure the load in will still be very good.
