Chairman's Award at Championship

One of our judges at during the interview at regionals told us the clock starts the moment you walk in the door. At the regional, we had shaken the judges' hands and handed them a booklet of information before we began. If those 30s-60s or so was included in our time, we would have certainly gone over the 5min limit.

How strict is the timing for the CCA? Does time start the moment you step inside, and will you be cut off exactly at 300 seconds into the presentation? Our uncertainty about this is making us nervous about our 4:45 presentation...
