It's not a perfect measurement (different regionals, different weeks), but it gives a nice mathematical ranking and correlates nicely with all the robots mentioned so far in the thread.

Imagine if 111 had a double-tube autonomous...
To add to this list 2415 had an opr of 58 at peachtree

Re: Best Robot

I decided to just run it for all regionals. So here are the top 25 OPRs done so far. If a team is there twice, it means they've done two regionals and performed strongly at both (or my script was messed up, which it was. If a team is there twice with the same OPR, it means I double-counted them)
Code:
67	64.1978
1114	62.9768
111	58.752
2054	58.5124
2415	57.7935
234	57.0967
33	56.7075
148	56.5229
1678	55.5372
987	55.1992
217	54.4144
2056	52.7503
217	52.6689
2512	49.8532
254	49.1796
456	48.4294
1023	48.3657
935	47.6648
1676	46.3775
2016	45.5644
1218	45.5229
876	44.9698
573	43.6522

Most of the OPR data is based on one regional per team. Without a full statistical analysis (blocking data, etc.) and more data, the uncertainty in the OPR rankings must be pretty big. My guess +/- 15 points. I agree with a prior post, no one robot is standing out in a big way.

I partially agree with your assessment, but disagree on most of it.

Yes having other data such as blocking data and what not is useful, however its impossible to correlate that into a statistical analysis we can use across every competition.

OPR isn't the end all be all metric of a team's success, but this list has some pretty darn good robots on it so its valid in some sense.

As far as no one robot standing out in a big way, I have to disagree there. Look at 67 and 1114 both well into the 60s. The 3rd highest is 111 at 58 and then theres a steady decline from there. These 2 teams to me seem to be standing out in some degree above the rest. However, taking a team with say a 58 OPR and dropping them in the same competition as 67 or 1114 may result in either team's number fluctuating based on the equalized playing field.

Just my .02
