1st year Mentor about game mode switch from Auto to Tele

Question.

When we have a match, our Auto code ends up with our wrist down and jaws open. Both of these actions are controlled by single solenoids.

It appears when we are on a match at the field, (I have only seen 1 district so far) our wrist and jaws move when the game is switched from Auto to Tele.

Is it possible when the field controls are used in the matches that the field goes through a disabled state first.

ie, Field state.
Disabled>Auto>Disabled>Tele>Disabled
or does it not go through Disabled, and our programmers have the finish state of Auto and the start state of Tele out of sync?

Is there any documentation on what states the field controls go through as typical planed sequence of operations?

Thanks for the Help.

Re: 1st year Mentor about game mode switch from Auto to Tele

The order that the field goes is Disabled Auton to Enabled Auton to Disabled Auton to Disabled Teleop to Enabled Teleop.

Is it possible that the switches on your controller are set to wrist up and jaws closed when the robot enables the second time?

As stated before, it does go through a couple cycles of disabled. If you want to avoid the movement of your jaws an wrist then the simplest solution is to use double solenoid as opposed to spring return single solenoids.

Re: 1st year Mentor about game mode switch from Auto to Tele

Thanks for the responses...

Unfortunately, are are out of 24v solenoid outputs, and 12v solenoids are three weeks away. We did use a double on the main lift... but all the smaller moves, we decided to risk it...

Mechanical Mentors say we are wasting air...

I think it looks great when we hang a high peg ubertube and waive to the crowd.

I was happy to go 17/18 auto scores in my first district...
