Post 11/9 Board meeting Re-Cap

Hey Everyone-
Here's a quick re-cap of what we decided at the meeting after
today's workshops:

1. Seminars
-November 23: Programming will be taught by Ken Krieger, and will last all day. Due to limited lab space at SJSU, we may test out online pre-registration for the seminar depending on if Mark can set up an online form in time. Pneumatics (Caroline, Damon, and David) will be offered in the morning, and Strategies and Designs (Bill and Ken Leung) in the afternoon in 3 hour sessions.

-December 14: CANCELLED (due to conflicts with Lego League and a
teaching convention).

-December 21: Wiring the Robot led by Ken Krieger, an EduRobot challenge led by Eric and Jason, and a Drive train/motor led by Ken Leung and Jon Lawton.

2. Kickoff
-Have informal team forum/Q&A session, robots to look at, BBQ provided on Friday night by a team (possibly Oak Grove and/or Pioneer)

-Saturday, January 4: Need 10 volunteers to help with registration
desk/providing breakfast/putting up signs/etc. and 4 to 6 volunteers to help with kit check out. We will give out packets of WRRF Workshop and Seminar handouts to give to teams.

3. Non-Profit Status
-Agreed that WRRF is not ready yet to go non-profit.

4. Bylaws/Mission Statement
-posted at http://www.payouthcouncil.com/wrrfbylaws.htm
-Send feedback to cmconley5@yahoo.com

5. Next meetings:
-Directly following the seminars on both November 23 and December 21.

Any corrections or Questions?

Sincerely,
Caroline

(for more information about up coming workshops please PM or e-mail me and I will give you contact information of the person in charge of the workshop this year. -Ken L)
