Go to Post I want to see the [game] animation robot with the plunger to pick up balls and the boots that spin to kick them. Could you do that please. It would be very awesome. :D - the man [more]

Take These Broken Things

ThinkGeek has a blog post up mentioning they are considering donating defective electronics to people and groups interested in taking them. The intended purpose is to use the items to teach or build cool things. Right now there is a form to just take info on those possibly interested but they mention FIRST by name so we're definitely their intended audience.

Definitely awesome, I wonder what kind of stuff they'd try to pawn off on us though...

Re: Take These Broken Things

we have a bunch of burnt up tetrix motors we could donate. I think that we should all box the burnt/broken motors and mail back to Lego/Pitsco/First.

Re: Take These Broken Things

Pretty interesting, I think I will suggest this to our mentors and see what they say. Like how the warehouse is just a few states away in Ohio so shipping shouldn't be too bad. Hope Think-Geek go through with this and give a nice array of goodies.

Broken stuff still has a price value when sold on ebay. Good try though. Maybe next year's KoP has this box of broken things.

they specifically forbade reselling. That sets the "price" back down to shipping cost for the borked box.. Are we beginning to speculate on next year's game already?

That's funny. I had the song in my head when I saw the title too.

I would probably sign up for some of this broken stuff, but I don't really want to pay shipping on what could be a box a junk.

Nice! Knew this was the place to share it. Wear it around town, you'll be surprised at how much non-nerd praise it gets as well!
