Gyro power

I am contemplating using the gyro on our robot, so I was looking at how to wire it. We have the analog breakout board powered with 12 volts, but the gyro said it requires 5 volts. When I opened and looked at the labview example, it implied that the analog breakout board would step down the current for the gyro. Is this true or do I need to do another method of wiring?

Re: Gyro power

To answer the question, yes, it is true. The breakout automatically converts the incoming 12V to 5V for you.
