Re: 2011 Archimedes Division
Looks awesome, this is going to be 2022's first time at championship ever, and we excited to have the dome floor Thursday/Saturday.

Re: 2011 Archimedes Division
If the OPR rankings are from the highest of attended regionals then ours should be from OKC where are OPR should be much higher. Am I understanding that correctly?

Re: 2011 Archimedes Division
Your OPR from Oklahoma City is 26.93 which is lower than the one listed from Kansas City.

Re: 2011 Archimedes Division
OK, then could some one explain what factors in to OPR

Re: 2011 Archimedes Division
I don't know everything, but it is based on alliance scores and not individual robot performance.
I don't know the algorithm, but it is calculated from the FMS feeds Again, these are just arbitrary numbers... |

Code:
dt Detroit Regional Detroit MI District mi West Michigan Regional West Michigan MI District gl Great Lakes Regional Michigan State Championship Also, Waterford (OC1) is the only event code with a "1" included in it. Other event codes in the same area use a 2 (MN2, ON2, WA2). As a computer engineer, I can understand indexing arrays using starting at zero, but the inconsistency between the 4 events confuses me. MN2 (North Star) started in 09 while the rest are new this year, so Waterford should be OC2 for consistency. When you generate OPRs and use frclinks.com & twitter hashtags as much as I do, the event codes become second nature/shorthand. Last edited by The Lucas : 15-04-2011 at 21:16. |

Re: 2011 Archimedes Division
In the end it comes down to scouting. Our score is lower than it should be in some ways. Once we actually got our robot playing properly (minus the one time when our Autonomous mode actually reversed, ran into the robot behind us, and lodged them into the rear wall), we played with extreme accuracy. Ahh well - next year we will have to go to two regionals.

Re: 2011 Archimedes Division
OPR is a representation of an individual robots contribution to the score of their alliances. OPR is calculated using matrix algebra. This approach helps to compensate for having stronger or weaker alliance partners.
Ultimately statistics derived from final scores will always have flaws. They are a useful jumping off point, and talking point before the event, but any team worth their salt won't be considering these numbers at all for alliance selection. |

Re: 2011 Archimedes Division
Its not a big deal. I was just wondering how the OPR was calculated.

Re: 2011 Archimedes Division
Qualification match scores and partners are the only factors. Here is my most recent explanation.
