FIRST penpals?

hey you know i was thinking, maybe it would be cool to get together a penpal kinda thing within FIRST. whoever is interested can email me at sheeplady198@yahoo.com. what i need to know is what state your from, team number, email, years on team, and what regionals you are going to. then i can match up people that will go to the same regional and then they can meet up there. if you think anything else needs to be on the information to me at the beginning let me know. i think this would be a great idea and help teams get to know each other. oh let me know your age. and gender. i hope it works. let me know what you think.

I thought about this a while ago, and thought about how to actually make it happen...

I was stopped because I have no clue how to make a webpage where people can go in, and register that they want to have a penpal, and search for people in different location around the country.

Then I was also considering what would people write about in the letters. So I don't know. It definitely sounds like fun for people who want to do it and have the time to write. I would love to do it too.

Do you have any plans of making this works?

I can see what I can do in the next couple weeks to put this whole thing online...give me a little time...

[EDIT]Here's a start at what I've got so far...the design look familiar at all?

I was interested (or still am rather) because I ended up talking to a friend on AIM a lot after I met her in this forum and in the chat room, and even though I am too busy to IM sometimes, I write e-mail to her from time to time. And I thought, wouldn't it be nice if others can do this too?

The only thing that makes people hesitate about doing this is that they haven't done this before, and don't know what to write. I know what's what happened to me at first. And its a little easier talking to people on AIM sometimes.

So, I dunno how to approach this. Maybe there are some penpal programs outside that teach people how to start. I shall research more about this. With enough people interested about this, or even just a few people writing back and forth, it just might snow ball to a bigger thing.

Mean while, thanks Nate! You got to teach me how to do that sometime.
