Denso Motor

Does anybody know what the stall torque, and rpm is of the denso motors WITHOUT the gear box attached to it, i repeat just the motor itself? We are considering changing the motor on the gear box to one or two of the bane bot motors but without knowing the values for the existing denso motor it is impossible to make the proper selection due to varying torque outputs.

Re: Denso Motor

On a competition robot, the denso gearbox can only be used with the stock denso motor. The gear box is considered to be integral to the motor and thus, using the gearbox sans motor is considered to be using an illegally modified motor. http://forums.usfirst.org/showthread.php?t=17243

Re: Denso Motor

Ok thanks, we had thought about that and looked for any rules against it and had not found one, other than <R47> which we didn't know if it applied for it. So once again thanks for your input.

Re: Denso Motor

Just out of curiosity though, does anyone happen to know what the ratio from the window motor and its gearbox is?

Re: Denso Motor

I did not take a very good picture of this gear before I threw it away, sorry. If you can count teeth, that's the ratio. If you have an extra motor you could take it apart and see for yourself.

From the Q&A

Posted by GDC at 02/22/2011 08:33:18 am
In the 2011 Kit of Parts Checklist, the window motors are listed by part number
containing the motor and the gearbox. As such, this motor/gearbox is to be thought of as a
single motor unit, and cannot be modified except as listed in Rule <R47>. The answer you
quote involves other motors in the kit which are listed as individual motors and may be used
with any gearbox.

Re: Denso Motor

Just happened to have a dismantled gearbox on the bench... the gear has 81 teeth on it as well as copious amounts of grease!
