Re: Buying Batteries at St Louis

I'm not going to champs this year, and really aren't familiar with the St. Louis area. But I think it's doubtful you will find any of those batteries off the shelf. I have looked through battery retailers and found the same ones in a few places, but you have to order them. I think it will be tough to find any, but I may be wrong. FIRST is very specific to what batteries you can use, down to the model number and there are only two (2) legal FRC batteries in existence. I think one is an Enersys and the other I think is MK.

What you could do is go and buy any sort of 18-20amp hour battery that you can find for coding in the pits and performing any sort of diagnosis. But you may be able to borrow some batteries from other teams and I know there are batteries available at the spare parts station.

Re: Buying Batteries at St Louis

Look here:
http://www.mkbattery.com/content_con...page=locations
http://www.enersysreservepower.com/s...&type=security
http://www.enersysreservepower.com/s...ype=electronic

Then call the head office or distributors' locations in Missouri and check their stock for the FIRST-legal batteries (MK ES17-12 or EnerSys NP18-12). And as for Newark (an EnerSys distributor), call right now; they're a huge electronics vendor, and probably have 24-hour customer service. All three are a drivable distance from downtown St. Louis. They might even deliver.

A hotel will usually accept a delivery for you if you arrange it with the concierge/front desk; as for the Dome, I doubt it, but you can ask.

You may need to top up the charge before you use it.
