Sproket

No, Im not talking about the sprokets on your robot that drive your chain...I'm talking ab a fully automated AI robot....I saw it at NBC's Tech Fest today and i had a good time messing around with him....teaching him things and e even made friends with Jester (Royal Assaults 2001 Robot) and Hefty (Wissahickon's 2000 Robot)....

A few FIRST teams partnered in a booth down at the Tech Fest alongside teams 341 (Wissahickon), 561 (Frankford High) and 618...we had all kinds of demonstrations today and we let the kids drive our 2000 robot around our booth, which had its moments, wissahickon had their pattened balance for a buck tehnique, which is always fun....

Now, Sproket....hmm....how to describe him...have you ever seen the movie short circut, Sprokets favorite movie, he resembles Johnny 5 and hs the Jonnny 5 feel to him...He learns, talks, recognizes voice, and even has eys for sensors....Its all programmed in C++, Linux, or Pascal, whatever you want to use, and he is totally independent, We had him in our booth for about 45 minutes to an hour, and we taught him

How to Score a goal
How to move a ball and pass it to Jester
Hefty's name and a few others name (he knew mine from when i met him ealier and i asked him if he wanted to meet my robot...lol....he called me joe "jesters daddy")
He gave High Fives and Hugs
and he even danced, sung a song

If you want to d/l any of the code, its all free heres the list of websited i was given on his card....

Yeah i saw it there too. it seemed to doa loop if it didn't recognize a voice, but i only watched it for about 5 minutes. I like the trash cans at disney better, even though there's someone driving it.

That was so hilarious! I got a kick out of the trash cans. The first time, I didn't know how they were controlled, but once I figured it out, I would play "spot the driver" and find the guy talking into his hand (or collar, or whatever).
