Actually, all capitals are not easier to read. It's been established that capital letters are harder to read. Legibility depends on the tops of letters, so using all uppercase letters decreases the legibility of a document.

You can get more information about this from the Yale Style Guide: Typography.

Use of caps is SHOUTING

I haven't read research regarding the legibility of caps vs lower case letters, but in newsgroup or mailing list etiquette, the use of all caps is considered to be SHOUTING.

Smile ???

Come on Vin....

If you look at any other forum around using all caps is disrespectful in most peoples minds and it does indicated a sense of shouting or anger.....

My suggestion would be to use bold or the little "!" sign for the message icon.....then people around here will look at the thread and notice its a big issue or whatever...

I'm going to have to agree with Clark concerning the netiquette. Plus, there are other, just as viable, methods of communication to teams concerning issues like this, such as direct advertising.

Vin, Vin, Vin, Vin, Vin..

And you're supposed to be the leader of IBN.. Oh well, we'll have to forgive you this time.. All caps has always been shouting, as far as I've know it anyways, and used almost exclusively by people that have no respect for their intended audience..

As for research, I have no clue so no comment on that..

What is IBN Intelligence you ask?

IBN Intelligence is a scouting organization on team #237. Two years ago myself and many others started scouting other teams. We gave information to our drive team as well as other teams at the competition. This year, I plan on making IBN Intelligence bigger and better. Anyone that is interested is welcome to join and work along side our team. Thank You.

Vin!! there you go again, talking in all CAPS, will you just stop? I've put up with you for 3 years on the team and for and 9 years off the team. That's it! I've had enough......... J/k....But I can vouch for Vin, the scouting reports are very good, and even include digital pics of each bot.
