DLINK Not Communicating with Bridge

Hello all,

I have my DLINK attached to my robot and the wireless bridge attached to the classmate. I have reset the settings on the Dlink multiple times and have followed the instructions to the letter for configuring it for use.

On the wireless bridge, I have reset it to factory standards and then followed the instructions from the 2010 book for configuring it for use.

The IPs of the system are:
Classmate: 10.8.88.51
Bridge: 10.8.88.4
Dlink: 10.8.88.1

Both the classmate and the DLink have a default gateway of 10.8.88.4

I have turned off all the wireless protection on the DLink, but I cannot connect the Dlink and the Bridge while in wireless. When ethernet connected, they communicate fine and I can ping and run the robot from the DS. When I disconnect, I get nothing.

Can anyone please help me?

Re: DLINK Not Communicating with Bridge

We don't use that "wireless bridge" you have in a typical 2011 robot network.
Any particular reason why you added it in there?

A typical configuration is:
  • DLink on the robot in AP mode (with a Security Passcode set)
  • Classmate wireless connecting directly to the robot's DLink (with the matching Security Passcode).
The DLink and Classmate can operate on compatible wireless 2.4GHz bands.
Directions are in the 2011 How to Configure Your Radio

Re: DLINK Not Communicating with Bridge

you need to make sure to have 2.4 ghz selected in the settings. in the developer account on the classmate, make sure to check the connect automatically box to your robots wireless network
