[FTC]: Our Robot

Since the season has now ended, we've put Alice (our robot) as a CAD file up on our website for anyone (anyone that has Pro/E) to look at and use any part. We'll also be posting all of our RobotC code as well.

You can find the Pro/E Backup file at:

http://www.technoguards.org/node/427

It is current as to what we used at World, where we were finalists for the Innovate, Design, and Inspire awards.

Enjoy!

Re: [FTC]: Our Robot

Sadly, I do not have Pro/E, and my outdated copy of Solidworks won't open the assembly, but I must say that, from the pictures posted on your website, it looks quite impressive! I wish I had an opportunity to see it in person!

I have two quite questions:
1. I notice that, on the mounts for what look like the bridge pressers, there is a connector on the "back" of the servo mount. What is that? I don't think it would be a bolt, and, unless you drilled out the hole, the tetrix axels do not fit in the smaller hole.

2. What was the purpose of the "stancing" as you call it? Is that how you adjust your baton dispenser's height?

I apologize if those questions are obvious in the CAD or from watching a match, but I was not able to do either.
Congrats on a great season, guys!

Can you guys make a .stp file of your assembly? I cant open it in Inventor without it creating a bunch of funny planes.

I've put a picture of the "hammers" for the bridge below. The only part that I can see that might be what you're talking about is the Tetrix Pivot Bearing (p/n W39093). We don't really like supporting anything on the servo shaft... it's plastic, so we try to do something for at least half of any potentially heavy object.

Several things. We do it to raise or lower the center of gravity. We OWN whatever space we are in (with the wheels at an angle we are impossible to push). We use it to push batons into the low goal when down. The back of the robot has a shelf that actually picks up and carries the rolling goal at the end game. It's cool...

I made the file and put it on the site. It may (or may not) be what you are looking for, if not, send me a note and I'll figure out how to export it better for you!

Thanks this should work, just incase you didn't know STP files most of the time are universal CAD files read by most CAD programs. I know making STP files in Pro-E is kind of funny but I'll download it when I'm on my windows partition tomorrow see if it works, If not you'll know!

Re: [FTC]: Our Robot

Ummm Remember when I said Pro-E export was funny for .stp files? Well the file you have uploaded doesn't work. you might want to try enabling just surfaces (been awhile since I have had to do this myself and I currently don't ahve pro-e on this machine)
