Re: PARC 14!

Wow this is pretty sad to hear. I was just wearing my PARC 2000 t-shirt at Monty Madness. Is there any way to help out for next year starting now?

Find some teams committed and willing to travel over 2.5 hours to visit us!

It is unfortunate especially since we have been the longest running mini regional. PARC was started in 1998 "Ladder Logic" and has been running annually since then. Over the last few years attendance has dropped off due to a variety of reasons outside of our control.

Also two of the three local neighboring teams (84 and 284) have gone way of the Dodo bird this year so that means we have two less attendees. These two teams were also our sister teams as the three of our teams are what became of team 143 as shown below at the first PARC.

Unfortunately being in a rural area and with the increase of mini regionals over the years many teams opt to stay local.

Re: PARC 14!

I am so sorry to hear that there will not be a PARC this year. The Firebirds <3 PARC and really wanted to come, but June 4th is the day of our graduation, so we couldn't make the trip this year. I hope this year is just a bump on the path and PARC will be back and better than ever next year.

Re: PARC 14!

MOE is also sorry to hear that PARC will not happen this year. June 4th is the date of graduation for The Charter School of Wilmington, which is the school where a signifiicant number of students on the MOE team attend.

PARC and the Tigertrons was the first off-season experience for our MOE team back in 2000. It is the role model for the Duel on the Delaware and many other off-season events. I hope that this is but a slight delay in the continuation of a long history of great PARC events.

Regards.

John

Re: PARC 14!

Really disappointing to hear this. The PARC was my very first FIRST experience all the way back in the year 2000. Got me hooked!

Re: PARC 14!

To all thanks for your kind words! This isn't our last attempt at PARC. We realized early in the planning stages that we might have scheduling issues with other activities. One reason we decided on June 4th was to try and work around/with other off season events and the other reason for not moving the date any later is because our school gym doesn't have AC and the gym gets quite warm during the summer.

We realize that PARC is quite a ride for any teams attending and are working on possible solutions to help out with travel. We have discussed moving our date so it coincides with our county fair so that there are other activities available for teams to enjoy. We have also talked about running a 1 1/2 day event so that teams don't have to be getting up at 3:00AM. We talked about ways we could help teams with accommodations and activities if we tried to do a 1 1/2 day event. We hope to come up with a good solution for all teams, but we need feedback from teams that would be interested in attending.

Please post your thoughts or suggestions.
