It's actually possible to do by hand using what's called a delta-wye conversion, but I remember that configuration of resistors taking a half hour or so to simplify without calculations just to prove it could be done, and most of an afternoon to calculate. Ether's method is undeniably simpler, but in my opinion at least, nowhere near as fun
The battery needs to be velcro-ed, strapped, buckled, tied, bolted, glued, zipped, or stapled in place so that it can't fall out when (not if) the robot turns upside-down. - dlavery [more]
