Re: M.A.R.C-Music
The Mass Effect soundtrack would be good for any downtime.

Re: M.A.R.C-Music
I know this year they did play both Lady gaga and Justin Bieber songs at competitions. Is there anyone who is going to the MARC that actually wants to hear either?

Re: M.A.R.C-Music
At the championship, they played a cover of "Surfin' USA" done by Blind Guardian. That made me happy.

Re: M.A.R.C-Music
Hi guys, I will be the DJ for MARC this year!
I provided that music list last year, but it's only about half of what I have now in my playlist. I've been working hard to add appropriate, high energy tracks and great music to help with pacing (You can't play >135 BPM electronic music the whole time! ). I aim to have no repeated tracks over the course of the competition.I can say with certainty that there will be no Bieber played on my watch! I make no promises about the other two mentioned earlier in the thread. All that being said, keep the team songs coming so I can acquire them if needed. |

Re: M.A.R.C-Music
Thank you again! you saved me big time last year. I downloaded the list from this site and it ended up being horrible. Lots of cursing and that was one of the things Mr. Ketron told me to avoid. Also, you're doing music this year? Should i not bring my set up then? I was under the impression that i was going to run sound again this year.

Re: M.A.R.C-Music
Sorry for the confusion, I did send you a private message about the issue when I saw this thread; I signed up with the VC a couple months ago to do it. This isn't the best way to find out the position you thought you'd be doing was filled. I think the takeaway is that if you want a position at an event, you've got to actually talk to the VC and make sure.
The only stuff I will be bringing is my laptop and a couple cables. I will still need a mixing board and I think Steve bought one for the event, so you probably won't need to bring anything. |

Re: M.A.R.C-Music
I never talked to the VC last year either. Mr. Ketron just told me i was doing it as he did this year. I will keep that in mind for future events.

Oh boy........... Anyways, it would be awesome if more epic music was played during the eliminations. Instead of the cliché choices like The Final Countdown, Eye of the Tiger, etc., maybe try something like Hans Zimmer's "Mind Heist", or Two Steps from Hell's "Heart of Courage". Re: M.A.R.C-Music
More vintage music (or is this getting out of hand?):
American Patrol--Glenn Miller Take the "A" Train--Duke Ellington The Entertainer--Scott Joplin Sing Sing Sing-- Benny Goodman / Gene Krupa In the Mood-- Glenn Miller Chattanooga Choo Choo-- Glenn Miller / Tex Beneke, could almost consider it an ancestor of Locomotion, don't know why I didn't think of it sooner. . . |
