The correct label is "JCPenny", right? I remember there being a thread discussing the correct way to write it, but if you google JCPenny, the "title description thing" above the URL says "JCPenney", yet once you enter the home page it's "jcpenney". A short summary: J. C. Penney Company, Inc. formally announced in February, 2011 the introduction of a new image and logo featuring an all lower case name: jcpenney. The initials JCP are also represented as their lower case version "jcp."

I have an odd feeling that day is not far off into the future. The difference I see is that I do not believe FIRST will fund it (or maybe not even create it). I believe the funding for a FIRST commercial will be funded by corporations supporting FIRST. When you think about it, it is a great investment. You advertise a program that will get you countless more engineers as well as overall better quality engineers (I understand this applies to many different careers and not just engineering) and you make the money back later after you employ them.

If I were a CEO of almost any major corporation, I would support this cause for a slight loss in profit in the current year to make it back, and more, later (though I am very biased)!

FIRST Robotics Canada runs ads on the Discovery Channel in Canada. The ad is a couple of years old now, but still pretty good.

I tried to find the ad online but with no success. There is a reference to it on the FIRST Robotics Canada website under Media.

I saw an entire page advertisement about this in People magazine! Neat to see that they are willing to offer more than just financial help. It may be just a logo on the page, but that's still a lot of exposure for one logo

Anyway, this is incredibly impressive and huge. The fact that they're putting FIRST next to organizations that are established in the public's mind shows something.

I agree this is pretty awesome that they have done this. The way it works with JCP teams is what Phil said, you get sponsorship based on your team's location. JCP stores can sponsor one or more teams. I know in the south, there are more JCP stores that sponsor more than one team.

I know personally that when I spoke with a representative about sponsorship they weren't "interested", for the lack of a better word, in our team because we are located in the middle of nowhere PA no where near a store. They only way they would have "sponsored" us is if we won money in their raffles at Championship in Saint Louis this year. I hope this helps.

if you get on their grant page you can see. there suprisingly isnt a ton, HOWEVER, i know they want to get more this year. cordinate with ur director for ur regional to get it
