News anchor: In this photo; taken mere moments before the tragic accident, we see the victim, Kara Bakowski, before she was hit by the vehicle. The car was driven by actor Verne Troyer who remarked he didn't see the girl. Witnesses say Kara had darted out into the road to pick up some zip ties.
The car was totaled in the accident, and Kara was sent to the hospital where she spent the night for observation. Remarkably she suffered no injuries. She accredits her luck to the fact that here teams flag shielded her from harm. When asked why she went into the street, she remarked "You can never have too many zip ties."
On a positive note, Mr. Troyer felt so bad about what happened that he has donated $50,000 to the Gearheads Robotics Team.
