Exclamation Shockwave

Does anyone have blueprints for the shockwave t-shirt cannon from the team 254? If not we need to know how they got the tubes to seal after each fire. Any help would be apprecieated! we only have two weeks to get this done

PM one of the many 254 members and Mentors on the forums, you can sort by team number in the member list. I am sure they will be helpful.

Did Kevin ever get back to you? If not, sorry about that.

The barrels/revolver mechanism doesn't actually seal against the valve body block. The gap is minimal, and we simply let the valve open and deal with the air losses through the small gap. We still manage to get a good launch, and estimate we are only losing 20% of the velocity/distance of each shot.

Also, 2 weeks doesn't sound like enough time to make a similar mechanism work safely and effectively. We spent over 2 weeks simply testing and debugging the completed cannon. Designing it, procuring parts and building/assembling it took more than 8 weeks.

Re: Shockwave

I believe we will be able to finish, we have our base and scuba tanks, a scuba expert to do re pneumatics and safety, we will be meeting every day, and also a guy with a waterjet cutter. How was the barrel system supported raised and spun, also how did you get it to line up after every shot?(the reason we have to get this done is the school froze our accounts and they asked us to build it, so we have to get it done.)

There is another post here on CD with more info that was created a few days ago: http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/sh...threadid=97089

There are also a few pictures on our website that show the tilt and indexing mechanisms in more detail: http://team254.com/shockwave/photos/

Feel free to shoot me an e-mail or PM if you have any more questions that aren't already answered.
