What Team 997 did this summer.

Team 997 has embarked on an off-season project the likes of which our team rarely sees. We are building a robot at zero cost, scavenging parts and working out kinks, and are trying to use a method that we have not before. We are approaching this from a modular viewpoint, and as such, have plans for disconnects that will allow for swapping of end-effectors, drive-trains, and the like. So far, we have nearly finished work on the electronics board, and the drive-train should come together at the next meeting. All in all, we should have a working bot within the week.

We have participated in several local events, many with other teams, such as Da Vinci Days (the local art and science fest), The Philomath Frolic (The local rodeo, we were in the parade), and a demo at the local HP site. We have brought in considerable amounts of recruits, both student and mentor. And we have a new coach.

So there you have it.
