Re: [BB] Bill's Blog 9-7-11
The regional webcasts would definitely be a worthwhile thing to do, as I think most of us on here can appreciate.
The problem now is that its often very difficult to find a stream, so for a common person just trying to find one can be a bit difficult. Usually the NASA site eventually gets up to speed, but it sometimes won't happen until the last day of the regional. -Brando |

God i love this red herring tradition and how it always points to a water game.

Re: [BB] Bill's Blog 9-7-11
I can just picture Bill and everyone else sitting around the FIRST offices saying "Well, here's the first draft of what we actually want to tell them... now everyone grab your thesaurus and figure out how we can change it all to be associated with water!"

Re: [BB] Bill's Blog 9-7-11
It was Matt Keller, a mentor and an alumni of Team 108 who organized SOAP Gameday. However, he wasn't available for the past year. I will be seeing him today and will talk to him about it. If I remember, I will get back to this thread or have him make a new thread concerning SOAP Gameday.

Re: [BB] Bill's Blog 9-7-11
As much as I think we won't have a water game, I do believe that the idea of robots doing laps like they would in a swimming competition may be possible.
If "laps" were to be involved that's the more than likely answer as doing circle laps was just done in 2008. With that being said though; 2010 was the last when there would still be students around involved with Rack N Roll (assuming everyone started FRC in there Freshman year like they should). 2011 comes around, and although the game is still very different, tubes are back. You think they might decide to do that again? Maybe we'll be making circles again, but with a different objective in mind for making those laps? Just my thoughts on what was mentioned. |

Re: [BB] Bill's Blog 9-7-11
"The GDC’s favorite choices were vetted by Marketing and the surviving choices are making the final lap. When Legal gets back to me, we can start work on a game logo, swap out "NameTBD" in the 2012 Game Manual and stop referring to the game as “well, you know”."
What if it's like a Survivor challenge?!?? One robot at a time goes and preforms a task and the first team to complete the task wins... like a 4X100 in track? passing of an object? thoughts and ideas? |
