My mother board recently fried. My IT Nephew says my hard drive is OK.
Does anyone have a Gateway 3.2 GHz, Pentium 4 mother board they can part with for a reasonable price?

What are you trying to accomplish? Because it would almost surely be a lot cheaper and easier to just get a new machine at that point. And you don't need the original motherboard to recover your data

Also to note, you don't need a gateway MoBo, just one that supports a Pentium 4 socket (LGA 775 usually I think) such as this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813500058

With deals like this it's beyond me why you would put any money into that older system in the present day. I suppose if you really had a budget cap you could do as you propose but the money is better put toward a newer system.

If you want to keep your existing hard drive, here's a bit cheaper combo.

If you're not interested in assembling your own but still looking for a cheap computer, I may suggest the Lenovo Outlet.

It could be Socket 478. It would need to be checked.

When wife has been unemployeed for 1.5 years, money is at a premium.
I'm not one of those people who has to have the latest and greatest computers. If it's not broke, don't fix it. My computer (before frying) did what I wanted it to do.

Somewhere around here I have a socket 754 motherboard with onboard video, a cpu and 1.5gb ram. It may take a little more work to use, but you can have it for the cost of shipping. I don't remember if I have a CPU cooler for it, but there's one on amazon for 15. PM me if you're interested.
