All Even Teams Going To WDW!

Don't know if this is fact or not, but I have recieved word that all even numbered teams and winners will go to the championships at WDW!

I believe the origin of this rumor is the fact that all even numbered team automatically qualify to REGISTER for the championships. (See Open Teams Letter - Championship Changes on FIRST's web site.) All teams -- including even numbered teams -- are required to register for a regional competition before registering for the Championship. Whether any team (whether qualifying by virtue of posessing an even team number or by satisfying one of the other requirements) can AFFORD to attend the championship is a wholly different question.

Well, of course you have to pay for it. But my message was that all even teams were elagable, if you are #1 seed or last place. My source is a friend in my team who knows everything before everyone else. If this proves false, I will put that here.

The letter on FIRST website pretty much explains the whole qualification process... and that process started a lot of discussions in this forum. Since you weren't here before, you probably haven't seen the 20 threads people started for talking about this new qualification FIRST started using.

On a side note, many such newsletters will appear in the "Feature Announcements & Forum Help", under sub forum: "Bulletins and Newsletters", when the 6 week starts. There will probably be a final test launch at the end of this month, when my finals are over , and finish the newsletter title contest! The official ones will start around the kickoff weekend of the 6 weeks.

The two old newsletters aren't visible to most people because their default setting only show posts in the past 45 days. So go in there and set the "from last 45 days" to "from the beginning", and look at the threads with "newsletter" in the title.
