Re: Your favorite demonstration?

Favorite demos:

-FLL tournament demo at HFRS with 2010 (Breakaway) robot - In a joint demo between us and team 910, we were both sitting there while the concept of FRC was explained (by one of the leaders of the FLL tournament). All of the kids shouted "FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT", to which the response was "no, they don't fight, they play together". After that was said, we both rushed for a single soccer ball in the middle of the room and collided, and 910 rolled slightly, and it was awesome.

-Chrysler Tech Center demo 2010 (Breakaway) - About 16 Chrysler-sponsored teams were invited to put on a demo at Tech Plaza (the center of the Chrysler Tech Center), for Chrysler employees. They used one of the FIM fields, and setup a partial field with a few bumps and a tower (due to the space constraints of Tech Plaza and the fact that escalators run right through the middle, there wasn't enough space for a full field). So, we had 16 teams playing sorta (no real playing, just demonstration on a partial field), and thousands of Chrysler employees walking around and talking to us (or just looking down from the levels above).

-Related to above - 2011 Ship Day sponsor demo - We used Tech Plaza again for a ship day party, where we invited sponsors to talk to us about the latest robot. We brought both (they looked almost identical, or close enough), plus a few old robots for display. We hung tubes, drank sparkling grape juice, and talked to sponsors about robots.

-Detroit Maker Faire 2011 - We and a few other FRC teams setup a mini-field inside the Henry Ford museum for the Maker Faire. At one point, one of the BB transmissions powering the lift died for unknown reasons, jamming up the entire elevator and tripping the breakers of both motors. Lacking any sort of spare parts (this is a demo after all), we pulled the breakers, zip-tied the elevator down and played only on the low row. We could still fill the entire low row (4 logos - we filled both low rows) in a few minutes, with time spare to take a few tubes back off again.
