[OCCRA]: VEX ultrasonic testing
When testing the VEX ultrasonic range finder with the default testing program, we got it to work once and we received actual data. Unfortunately, we were not able to do this again. Every time we attempted to use the program, it simply gave us values of 255, or overload, even at very short distances. We did not alter the program at all between tests. We are speculating that the sensor may be bad, but this is a worst case-scenario. Are these normal results, or are we possibly overlooking another issue?

Re: [OCCRA]: VEX ultrasonic testing
Official Answer: Mike Martus
I asked an engineer at Innovation First that makes the sensor. He states that the failure rate of the sensor is extremely, extremely small. He says it is most likely a issue with your program commands. I have no experience in this area at all. Send Mr. Marc Center or Mr. mcIntyre a message. The programming section should be monitored by them. I will send them a message. |
