PTC Windchill for Inventor 2011
I am trying to use Windchill with Autodesk 2011. I thought Windchill usually supported the previous year's edition of Inventor, so we did NOTupgrade to Inventor 2012 this fall. Unfortunately, Windchill Workgroup Manager still only seems to support Inventero 2010 so far.
Does anyone know when we could expect to see a Windchill upgrade to support Inventor 2011? And, yes, I did try to ask PTC directly, but my FIRST-supported account does not seem enabled to ask questions on their forum. And yes, we are considering shifting to PTC Creo (which is very nicely integrated with Windchill) but for now my team is mostly trained on Inventor. -Jeff |

Re: PTC Windchill for Inventor 2011
I finally answered my own question, if anyone is interested.
PTC Windchill 10 supports Inventor 2011, and it seems to be available now. |

Re: PTC Windchill for Inventor 2011
Until Windchill 10.0, which was very recently released, Inventor was never supported. This assumes that by "supported" you mean as a direct integration like Creo supports. Inventor files could always be submitted and source controlled just like any generic file type.
As far as I know, PTC has not upgraded our FIRST projects to 10.0. We are still running 9.1. Does your team have access to 10.0? |

Re: PTC Windchill for Inventor 2011
I think Windchill 9.1 supported Inventor 2010. At least 2010 showed up in the Workgroup Manager when I ran it.
One of my mentors got a test access to Windchill 10, but I don't think the FIRST access is generally open yet. A PTC rep said it will be generally available around 1 November. |

Re: PTC Windchill for Inventor 2011
I just got an email that announces that Windchill 10.0 is live for FIRST robotics.
