Can someone instruct me to how to convert an assembly into a .step file? Because I have a few assemblies that I would like to post.

I believe that in SolidWorks and AutoDesk Inventor you can go File > Save As and change the output file type to STEP (.stp). I hope this helps and look forward to hearing from you soon!

In Pro/E use File / Save a Copy and change Type to STEP. Before you export, if you change the option "step_appearance_layers_groups" to yes it will preserve most of the part colors. This makes it a bit easier to look at the model.
