I have posted the FRC model used in our SolidWorks tutorials. The SolidWorks robotics tutorials teach you the basics, a good frame, mounting motors, wiring, drawings. The model is in SolidWork 2011.
http://blogs.solidworks.com/teacher/...olidworks.html Sometimes it is easier to learn when you can see the the complete assembly and then look how to create sub assemblies. Sub assemblies are key to good robot design. Hardware folders are great to keep all your fasteners together and suppress when they are not required.
