Team 254 CAD Training and Tutorials

Hey All,

I'm Nagy Hakim and I'm Team 254's President. With the emerging build season in about a month, it is about that time of the year to start trainings and preparing for build. On our website resource page (http://team254.com/resources/documents/), we have a lot of very useful tutorials and presentations (specifically in CAD) for anyone to check out.

Over the years our team has developed a fairly thorough CAD training program which has allowed us to maximize our design capabilities and we are eager to share this with as many teams as possible.

The only thing we ask in return is feedback via this thread from anyone who used the material.

Update: As Sean suggested, I forgot to mention that the tutorials are for Solidworks. However, the other 3D modeling practices tutorials, etc. apply to all platforms.

You should probably mention which CAD platform(s) these tutorials are designed for. You appear to be using SolidWorks in your videos, which may differ from the preferred/available CAD packages of many teams.

Re: Team 254 CAD Training and Tutorials

The resources on your website are very helpful! I am going to show the conveyors power point to the rest of my team.

Any reason the 'Part Numbering & Nomenclature' is by password only? I was particularly interested in that one. My team is in the process of forming a system and haven't come up with anything satisfactory yet.

Keep adding info

Thanks looks like a lot of great info!

Might be a long shoot, but are we ever going to see full CAD models of your robot? I would love to see the 2009 robot ^^.

I will definitely be sure to check these out once my finals are over with and my SMART Scholarship application is completed!

Everything 254 does is exceptional, and I cannot imagine this being an exception.

Re: Team 254 CAD Training and Tutorials

Is there a reason you made your "Part Numbering & Nomenclature" a members only section?

I saw it earlier today and thought that it had some really insightful information.

Any chance you can post it again or remove the content you do not want public?

Thanks,
-Clinton-

Re: Team 254 CAD Training and Tutorials

We weren't trying to keep it private. We simply didn't want to confuse people with our somewhat very convoluted numbering scheme. We will go through, clarify things, and make it public very soon.
