I would switch team funding with you in an instant. You are very lucky to be able to go to two comps and build a bot. We currently have enough money for one comp and a robot and perhaps a couple hundred left over. And this will be a VERY conservative robot I might add. Also, we have to leave min $2500 for next year but at least we don't need that until September.
About the computers thing, our principle is really big on computers. We have more and better computers than you could ever imagine. However, we haven't the money for two comps or to build a fancy robot.
